Washington, D.C. – After promises of a transparent government, the Democrats have decided it best to close the curtains to their Republican colleagues.  Promises from leading Democrats vowed to allow the public a 48 hour viewing online of the more than $1 Trillion stimulus bill proposal before it was brought to the floor for a vote.  As Connie Hair reports tonight for HumanEvents.com, President Obama, along with Senate leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and House leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), have been in cloistered meetings regarding the bill.  No Republican leaders were included in these final talks.  So much for bipartisanship.

Her report continues with statements from leading Republicans.  “The American people have a right to know what’s in this bill,” Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind) told HUMAN EVENTS after the press conference.  “Every member of Congress — Republicans and Democrats — voted to post this bill on the internet for 48 hours, 48 hours ago. We’ll see if the Democrats keep their word.”

At a little after 5:00 p.m., it was clear that the Democrats had broken their promise to their colleagues as well as the American people.  The stimulus bill is expected to be posted online late tonight and is planned for a 9:00 a.m. introduction on the House floor tomorrow.

It certainly seems as if Friday 13th will have yet another ominous reputation.
