This is the question that so many Americans are asking in the aftermath of the killing rampage at Ft. Hood this past week.  Why?  Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman has even announced plans for an investigation into the military’s protocol in regard to how and why they “missed the signs” of a man in distress.  Why?

The answer to “Why?” is simple…because Islam is at war with the West and Americans have put into office a passel of Socialists who are either too stupidly naïve to understand, or too Machiavellian to care.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a Congressional investigation to understand that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who had repeatedly expressed anti-American views, was…. (get this)…Anti-American!

As an American, I have some questions of my own.

  • When did Americans begin to misinterpret “enlisting in the Army” as “free college tuition, void of soldiering?”  Hasan’s family has stated that he was never interested in any form of aggression, only in getting a college education.
  • How does a Muslim who attended a radicalized mosque get admitted to the U.S. Army and manage to achieve the rank of Major?  Since America was first attacked by radical Islamists in 1979, one would think the U.S. Military would have been more judicious in their personnel recruitment in subsequent years.
  •  Why are our soldiers not allowed to be armed while on post?  Had the 33,000 troops posted on Ft. Hood been armed, chances are Hasan would have considered twice before opening fire, or been killed before he could take a second shot.  This, of course, is ignoring the fact that this no-weapon-on-post policy introduced during the Clinton administration is completely unconstitutional…not to mention unrational
  • At what point do we consider a person a threat? The military had been notified by fellow soldiers that Hasan made un-American comments and spouted pro-Islamic beliefs as far back as his college days.  His fellow soldiers reported that he was angered at being deployed to the Middle East theater.  More recently, law enforcement officials had already been aware of Hasan’s anti-American rants and were watching his postings on the Internet where he equated Islamic suicide bombers with soldiers who threw themselves on grenades to save their fellow soldiers in battle.   Late today, we hear that Hasan had met with two of the 9/11 hijakers.
  • Why should we all be so careful to not “jump to conclusions” about Muslims?  Why?  Why NOT?  Islam is a religion of hatred, intolerance and violence.  The concept of “moderate Muslims” is an oxymoron…there is no such thing.  The strict Islamists will even tell you as much.  In the eight years since 9/11, so few of the so-called “moderates” have been vocal on their pro-American views, that a sane person could only make the observation that, these “moderates” are virtually non-existent.  So, why shouldn’t one make the conclusion that Muslims, in general, pose a potential threat to the security of the United States?  It is, indeed, a fact.  While not all Muslims are terrorists, all of the 9/11 terrorists were Muslim.

After decades of being indoctrinated to the point of self-hatred and perceived guilt, many Americans are afraid of offending anyone by stating any obvious conclusion.

Political correctness has invaded every aspect of our society and overtaken common sense.  People are, now, afraid to look at the obvious and make sound judgments based on the facts. We have become a nation of impotents.

If we maintain this ostrich-effect, our safety and sovereignty will pay the price.  And that is…Why It Matters.
