Sandy = Obama’s Katrina

Posted: October 30, 2012 by April Watkins in Breaking News, Distasters

In the midst of the largest storm to hit the East Coast in written history, let us hope that FEMA performs its job and that federal, state and local governments cooperate to save lives.  Criticism is easy to hurl about during any catastrophe.  With Obama at the helm, it will be interesting to see how America and the media weather Hurricane Sandy.

To my friends in harm’s way tonight, know my thoughts and prayers are with you.  Stay safe.

DEMS: GOD is Gone!!

BREAKING NEWS – The 2012 Democratic National Convention has deleted the word “God” from their entire platform.  The Platform for each political party is the game plan that their candidates have endorsed and includes policy and potential legislation goals.  A convention meeting entitled, The Faith Council, met on Monday, September 3.  While its moniker may include the word “faith,” the meeting focused on using faith-based organizations as Obama campaign outreach centers, rather than defining and building a platform on how the party addresses Democratic voters who are God-fearing.

Additionally, the DNC has craftily undermined Israel by refusing to acknowledge Jerusalem as the Jewish state Capitol.  Instead their spokesperson describes Jerusalem as and “issue” that needs to be dealt with in a two-state solution with the Palestinians.  American Jews should pay special attention to what is said, and more so, to what is NOT said during the DNC 2012.  The Obama Administration has made no secret that they support the Palestinian policies and have turned its back on Israel time and again.

You can read the entire platform of the DNC by clicking here.

One thing that can be said about the Democratic Party is that they tell us exactly what they intend to do or not to do.  It is our responsibility as voters to listen carefully and discern what is being said.  We must take back control of our country from the politicians, their surrogates and puppet masters, and that is …Why It Matters.

NYC –  This morning a man apparently took his frustration out on innocent bystanders at the Empire State Building.  FBI is on the scene along with NYPD.  The incident is being reported as a disgruntled fired employee who came back with a gun for revenge.  Reports are ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families of this horrible attack.  May God be with you all during this trying time; may He welcome the souls of those who have passed from this world.  Amen.

The following is a letter from U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky).  Senator Paul has been working with the National Association for Gun Rights to stop the Obama Administration and the Progressive/Liberal Left from slowly diminishing our Constitutional rights, specifically the Second Amendment which guarantees United States citizens the RIGHT TO OWN AND BEAR ARMS.

Please join me and the 1,400,000 Americans who have already signed the petition against this UN treaty.  The petition will be sent to your Senators to let them know that WE, the American People, will not be governed by the United Nations.

(Note:  All treaties between the United States and another entity must be ratified by the United States Senate.  Currently, the U.S. Senate is controlled by the liberal Democrats with 51 seats;  the Republicans hold 47 seats and there are 2 Independent members, totaling 100 members.)

Dear April,

Have you signed your Firearms Sovereignty Survey yet?

The National Association for Gun Rights has collected over 1,400,000 signed surveys against the UN Small Arms Treaty with tens of thousands of more pouring in each week!

If you haven’t yet signed, please go ahead and do so by clicking here.  It’s still vital that your Senators feel pressure to oppose the UN Small Arms Treaty from grassroots gun rights activists like you.

But if you’ve already signed, will you forward the email below to every pro-gun American you know?

By forwarding this email to your family and friends, you will be letting them know that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton still have their sights set on advancing, and passing, the UN Small Arms Treaty.

Click here to forward the email below right now.

On the page I link to there is a space for a personal message.  Please make sure to add a short note so your friends know what the email is about.

This is an important step in growing the grassroots gun rights army opposed to the UN Small Arms Treaty.

I hope I can count on your action today.

Click here to forward the Firearms Sovereignty Survey to your family and friends.

Please read my email below to find out just how dangerous the UN Small Arms Treaty is to our gun rights why it’s still a threat.

For Freedom,

Rand Paul
United States Senator

P.S. The National Association for Gun Rights relies entirely on generous voluntary contributions from its supporters.  Please click here to make a contribution of $30, $20 or $50.

Subject: Hillary Commits to UN Small Arms Treaty

Gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.  You see, the UN Small Arms Treaty is proving harder to kill than Freddy Krueger.

I’ve just learned that the next opportunity for the UN to push global gun control is August 27th.

Officially, it’s called the “United Nations Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects.”  And I hear the gun grabbers will jump on it “like a snarling pack of hyenas.”

Disguised as an “International Arms Control Treaty” to fight against “terrorism,” “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates,” the UN Small Arms Treaty is in fact a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme.

I’m helping lead the fight to defeat this radical treaty in the United States Senate and I want your help.  Please join me by taking a public stand against this outright assault on our national sovereignty by signing the Official Firearms Sovereignty Survey.

Ultimately, the UN Small Arms Treaty is designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms owned by private citizens like YOU.

So far, the gun-grabbers have successfully kept the exact wording of their new scheme under wraps.  But looking at previous versions of the UN Small Arms Treaty, you and I can get a good idea of what’s likely in the works.

If passed by the UN and ratified by the U.S. Senate, the UN Small Arms Treaty would almost certainly FORCE the U.S. to:

  • Enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding Americans cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally;
  • CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL “unauthorized” civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course);
  • BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons;
  • Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that this is NOT a fight we can afford to lose.  Ever since its founding 65 years ago, the United Nations has been hell-bent on bringing the United States to its knees.

To the petty dictators and one-world socialists who control the UN, the United States of America isn’t a “shining city on a hill” — it’s an affront to their grand designs for the globe.  These anti-gun globalists know that so long as Americans remain free to make our own decisions without being bossed around by big government bureaucrats, they’ll NEVER be able to seize the worldwide power they crave.

And the UN’s apologists also know the most effective way to finally strip you and me of ALL our freedoms would be to DESTROY our gun rights.  That’s why I was so glad to hear that the National Association for Gun Rights is leading the fight to stop this assault on our Constitution!

The truth is there’s no time to waste.  You and I have to be prepared for this fight to move FAST.

The fact is the last thing the gun-grabbers at the UN and in Washington, D.C. want is for you and me to have time to mobilize gun owners to defeat this radical legislation.  They’ve made that mistake before, and we’ve made them pay, defeating EVERY attempt to ram the UN Small Arms Treaty into law since the mid-1990s.

But now time may not be on our side.  In fact, we’re likely to only have a few weeks to defeat the treaty when they make their move.  And we definitely don’t have a President in the White House who will oppose this treaty.

So our ONE AND ONLY CHANCE to stop the UN Small Arms Treaty is during the ratification process in the U.S. Senate.  As you know, it takes 67 Senate votes to ratify a treaty.

With new pro-gun champions joining me in the Senate, rounding up enough votes to kill this thing should be easy, right?  Unfortunately, that couldn’t be further from the truth.  Even with the Republican tidal wave in 2010, there still isn’t a pro-gun majority in the Senate to kill ratification of the treaty.  You know just as well as I do how few Senators are truly “pro-gun.”

Not only that, but many Senators get “queasy” about killing treaties for fear of “embarrassing” the President — especially with “international prestige” at stake.  They look at ratifying treaties much like approving the President’s Supreme Court nominees.

Remember how many Senators turned their back on us and voted to confirm anti-gun Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor?  A dozen more only voted against Sotomayor after receiving massive grassroots pressure from the folks back home.

So if we’re going to defeat the UN Small Arms Treaty gun owners have to turn the heat up on the U.S. Senate now before it’s too late!

  • Do you believe the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Second Amendment are the supreme law of the land?
  • Do you believe any attempt by the United Nations to subvert or supersede your Constitutional rights must be opposed?

If you said “Yes” to these questions, please sign the survey the National Association for Gun Rights has prepared for you.

Your survey will put you squarely on the record AGAINST the UN Small Arms Treaty.

And along with your signed survey, I hope you’ll send a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50 or even just $35 to help finance this battle.  With your generous contribution, the National Association for Gun Rights will continue contacting Second Amendment supporters to turn up the heat on targeted U.S. Senators.

Not only that, but they’re preparing a massive program to launch the second this treaty is brought before the Senate.  Direct mail.  Phones.  E-mail.  Blogs.  Guest editorials.  Press conferences.  Hard-hitting internet, newspaper, radio and even TV ads if funding permits.  The whole nine yards.

Of course, a program of this scale is only possible if the National Association for Gun Rights can raise the money.  But that’s not easy, and we may not have much time.

In fact, if gun owners are going to defeat the UN Small Arms Treaty pro-gun Americans like you and me have to get involved NOW!  So please put yourself on record AGAINST the UN Small Arms Treaty by signing NAGR’s Firearms Sovereignty Survey.

But along with your survey, please agree to make a generous contribution of $250, $100, $50 or even just $35.  And every dollar counts in this fight so even if you can only chip in $10 or $20, it will make a difference.

Thank you in advance for your time and money devoted to defending our Second Amendment rights.

For Freedom,

Rand Paul
United States Senator

P.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced the Obama Administration will be working hand in glove with the United Nations to pass a new GLOBAL, “Small Arms Treaty.”

If we’re going to defeat the UN Small Arms Treaty gun owners have to turn the heat up on the U.S. Senate now before it’s too late!

Please return your Firearms Sovereignty Survey and put yourself squarely on the record AGAINST ratification of the UN Small Arms Treaty.

And if you can, please make a generous contribution to the National Association for Gun Rights of $250, $150, $100 or even just $35 right away!

And every dollar counts in this fight so even if you can only chip in $10 or $20, it will make a difference.

Why It Matters is honored to introduce its new contributor, G. Byron Barrett.  A graduate from Cambridge University in the U.K., Barrett’s PhD was earned from Princeton University’s Department of Politics were he focused on American political history.

G. Byron Barrett

In the mid 1990s, G. Byron Barrett was honored with a Nobel Peace Prize for simply showing up at the ceremony, a feat matched only by Barak Obama.  Barrett has had a outstanding career in the field of drama, taking claim to six Academy Awards, three Emmys and one Partridge for his work in The Pear Tree.  The highlight of Barrett’s writing career came in 2012 as he accepted the Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Fictional Production.  “I have always been passionate about my writings, but to have them recognized by Mr. Poe has been a phenomenal event,” states Barrett.

When questioned about his technology accomplishments, G. Byron is humble, “You know, Al and I were just sort of playing around with the computer and came up with the idea that it would be so cool to talk to people on the other side of the world.  Thus…the Internet.”

Why It Matters looks forward to a new voice in our ongoing discussions of politics, government antics, and other juicy topics!!
